Restorative Yoga

Restorative Yoga at The Inner Place Yoga Studio

Restorative-yogaRestorative Yoga classes at The Inner Place prioritise stillness, relaxation and calming the mind.

During Restorative Yoga traditional standing or lying Yoga postures are adapted using equipment such as bolsters, blocks and straps to support your body, so that you can hold the poses for longer. This allows your body to open and stretch through gentle, passive practice. As the body naturally releases it lets go of  deeply held muscular tension and stress to bring about a state of deep well being, rest, and renewal.

Restorative Yoga classes eliminate any risk of strain and are gentle and highly relaxing and make a great complement to the more active classes offered at The Inner Place.

Generally there is a minimum of two teachers present in our Restorative Yoga classes, to guide and assist you into the poses, adapting and utilising the equipment as is necessary.

Restorative Yoga is like a comforting blanket for the body and the mind. It is beneficial for everyone and especially useful for times in your life when you are feeling tired and frazzled.

It is also very useful to help recovery from illness and injury or to ease emotional depression and anxiety caused by traumatic events such as divorce, job loss or the death of a loved one.

Restorative Yoga classes at the The Inner Place offer a window of peace and calm in this ever stressful and busy life and bring physical, emotional and mental relaxation and healing.
