What is Meditation?

Meditation classes at the inner place ledburyMeditation is a practice where we learn to calm and silence our mind in order to achieve a state of deep peace and serenity.
Really meditation can be thought of as a form of Mindfulness where we learn to practice a state of raised consciousness, making healthy, long-term decisions about how we choose to conduct our lives. This includes being mindful of what we eat, what and how we speak, our relationships and generally how we conduct our lives. Through meditation we can learn to live consciously and mindfully. Helping us to work towards a life where our actions and reactions reflect love, peace and compassion.

What are the Benefits of Meditation?

The practical benefits of meditation can be many. They include improved sleep, peace of mind, stress relief, better concentration, improved communication, relaxation and rejuvenation.

How do I Start To Meditate?

At The Inner Place we believe that we all need to tap into the power of meditation, especially in today’s stressful world, meditation is a necessity, not a luxury.

We understand that the thought of meditating can seem a little daunting at first, but don’t let this put you off trying. Obviously it takes time and practice to realise all the benefits of meditation.
The good news is though that, if you are already practising postures, breathing and relaxation then you’re well on the road to successfully meditating.

Meditation classes at The Inner Place are relaxed and easy. We realise that, for the vast majority, sitting crossed legged for any length of time can be uncomfortable at best and therefore we use chairs for comfort and ease.
Solid, regular practice will help and also understanding that achieving this special state of mind will not happen on every – or even most – occasions.

Through practice, we begin to be able to achieve the state of mental clarity and stillness, on demand. The process of practice, in itself, is beneficial. The peace and stillness of the body and the willingness to try and quieten and open the mind will eventually lead to the reality.

All you need to meditate is a few minutes and the desire to have a go and see what happens. So please come and join us in our monthly meditation practice and at the very least, enjoy a moment of stillness, peace and tranquillity.

Yoga Classes

We offer regular Yoga classes during the daytime, the evening and at weekends. Some of the many benefits of yoga include improved flexibility, balance, strength, and mental health. It could also help relieve stress, inflammation, and anxiety. The scientific research into yoga’s benefits supports what practitioners seem to have known for millennia: Yoga is incredibly beneficial to our overall well-being.

Pilates Classes

Pilates targets the deep postural core muscles, building strength from the inside out, re-balancing the body and bringing it into correct alignment.
